Yesterday afternoon, students and staff went head-to-head for the 3rd annual Teachers vs. Students Basketball Game. The game was very close, with the students scoring the winning shot with only 3 seconds on the clock. Both teams were prepared and ready for the game, showing off their game plan the whole time. The student team included members from our Unified team and our LHS Boys Basketball team. Our teachers were energized and prepared to extend their winning streak, but their success was not pursued this year.
Coach Shore, one of the teachers who participated in the game, said, “We will win for sure, and if we don’t win legitimately, we may cheat to win, but we will win.” He also said that his favorite part of this game was getting to connect with all the students.
At halftime, teachers (some players and some spectators) performed their dance to Justin Timberlake’s song, “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” adding a fun performance to the fierce game. Students from the crowd also got to participate in halftime, playing a very competitive game of knockout.
Overall, the game was very fun, and kept the audience and teams on the edge of their seats! It’s great to see the students and the teachers come together in something they both enjoy, especially while fundraising for a cause. Remember to donate money to Cooper’s wish this week, so that he can go to Disneyland and swim with the dolphins!
