LHS is excited to welcome a new addition to the math department this year, Taylor Shore! He is one of the new Math teachers! He teaches Geometry and Algebra II.
Before becoming an educator, he studied architectural engineering and worked as a soil engineer, studying different types of soil and how they interact with the environment. He didn’t go into teaching until he met his fiancée 5 years ago, an elementary school teacher from a long line of educators who inspired him to work with kids. Her influence helped him see that teaching would be the perfect way to connect his love for learning with his natural ability to lead and support others. He loves golf and even works at a golf course over the summer! If you also like golf, check out his golf-themed desk! He’s been coaching for the past 15 years, and is now excited to be working with the LHS girls’ flag football team, who are now officially recognized by CHSAA. He’s also deeply committed to volunteering and giving back to the community, especially when it comes to youth programs. His teaching style is interactive and supportive, and he’s focused on making math approachable and engaging for every student.
A fun fact? He has a tattoo of his favorite animal, a turtle, which symbolizes longevity, patience, and prosperity, values he strives to live by every day.
A quote that inspires him: “Don’t let your environment dictate your future. How it shapes you is up to you; the environment can only change you if you allow it to.” He’s ready to make a big impact at LHS.
