LHS welcomes new teacher – Mrs. Maksymovich

This year, LHS welcomes a new ELD teacher to our school community, Mrs. Maksymovich! From the very beginning, her first impression of LHS has been overwhelmingly positive. “It’s a really good school. The students are very nice, and the facilities are great. I feel safe here, which is important because we want you guys to be safe. I think the most impressive thing [about LHS] is everything we do is for the students. You are our number one goal.”

Before coming to LHS, she had a long and exciting teaching career that has taken her around the world. She spent seven years living in Kobe, Japan, where she first taught Japanese students and then moved on to teach at an international American school, working with 9th, 10th, and 2nd graders. Later, she returned to the United States and taught at the Spring International Language Center, both in Arkansas and here in Littleton. She was also part of the faculty at the University of Arkansas for six years.

Outside of teaching, she has a big love for animals. She currently has two cats and used to have dogs.

When asked what advice she has for students, her answer was simple but meaningful: “Always ask for help when you need it. We are always here to help you.”

We’re excited to welcome her to the LHS family and can’t wait to see all the ways she will help our students succeed.
