Next week is LHS Homecoming week! This upcoming week is filled to the brim with various fun activities and opportunities to have fun with the LHS community! The theme for this year is ‘Fairytale.’
Sunday:
Starting off the Homecoming week atmosphere is the Flyin’ Lion 5K, at 9 am at the LHS stadium. After you finish running, DECA’s Pancake Breakfast will be waiting for you.
Monday:
The first spirit day theme of the week is… Sleeping Beauty! Students are encouraged to wear their PJs. After school is the co-ed student volunteer volleyball game at 3:45; make sure to sign up with your friends!
Tuesday:
The next spirit day theme is Twin Day! Match up with one or more of your friends. Later that day, make sure to go watch the girl’s volleyball match at 4:30 and the boy’s soccer match at 7:00. Both are home games, so if you haven’t been to a game yet this season these are easy to catch.
Wednesday:
The midweek spirit day is Wizards and Witches! Dress up like your favorite magical character or with whatever general paraphernalia you have. Co-ed dodgeball is after school, so make sure to sign up and tell your friends! At 5, go support unified by watching them compete in kickball. For dinner, stop by Chipotle from anytime between 4 and 8 to support the school.
Thursday:
Smurf Day is the second to last spirit day for Homecoming week. That means wear white and blue or anything vaguely Smurf related. After school will be the Llabtoof, or flag football game, for students to participate in. Make sure to attend karaoke and the bonfire at 7 in the athletic lot! This is a LHS tradition that wasn’t possible last year, so make sure to go if you haven’t before!
Friday:
The final spirit day of the week is Class T-Shirt day! Seniors, make sure to wear your overalls if you have them! Starting at 2:25pm is the Homecoming Pep Rally, followed by the carnival and later the tailgate. Later that evening is the LHS Homecoming football game at 7pm.
Saturday:
To finish off the fun-filled week, the Homecoming dance will be at LHS from 7 to 10. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, just make sure you get them!
