Our Unified Program has come a long way. We used to only have a small selection of sports, like basketball and bowling, but throughout the years, Unified has added lots of new sports, and even a club! We now offer kickball, track, cheer, Esports, and a Unified Newspaper.
Unified Club has organized lots of activities such as the Polar Plunge, a Tri-School Unified Prom with Arapahoe and Heritage, and Field Day. In addition to the growth of athletes, our Unified partners have been so supportive these past couple of years! The Unified partners have learned lots of new skills, like helping the athletes, making it an enjoyable community to be a part of.
“If I could define Unified in one word, it would be community, because everything about our Unified program screams that we are one,” said Unified partner Caroline May.
Unified would like to get more people to join! They are trying to be more involved in school events, and they helped at Flyin’ Lion 5K by serving pancake breakfast, doing concessions for Boys Basketball, participation in pep rallies, and posting events on social media.
Our Athletics & Activities Director Mr. Enzminger has worked at Littleton High School for 9 years. Before coming here, he worked at Kennedy High School, and started a Unified program there. When Enzminger came to Littleton High School, there was only Unified Basketball, and he brought Unified bowling to the school. Now, we have sports for every season! One thing Enzminger likes that everyone is welcome and involved in our Unified program.
Unified Esports Athlete Chris says, “My favorite thing about being in Unified is being with the team.”
We are only going to get bigger and better, and we are strong, Lions!
