The “Unknown” Classes at LHS

I’m sure all of us have heard the 1 minute warning bell play in the halls, while some of us scurry to our class and the rest sit in their seats. But do we ever wonder what other classes are in session while we learn in our own class? What classes come to mind? Usually, people think about core classes: language arts, math, science, and social studies.

Do we ever think of the other classes besides the typical and common ones? If you didn’t know already, here are some unpopular classes we offer here at LHS:

Genetics

If you’re interested in the idea of DNA and its structure and the deeper explanation of why we look the way we do, then you should consider signing up for genetics! It’s a fun way to learn about our inheritance and body functions on a more molecular level.

Creative Writing

Creative Writing is a great way to put the ideas of your imagination into a form of writing. It’s a way to be creative and explore new strategies to create intriguing stories.

Science Fiction

Science Fiction is a language arts class that introduces and focuses more towards the Sci-Fi topics, like aliens, martians, robots, time travel, monsters, and more!

Poetry

Poetry involves writing, understanding, and studying beautiful poems, like Shakespeare, Dickinson, Edgar Allan Poe, and so forth. Poetry pretty much explains itself in the name!

Zoology

If you’re an animal lover, and maybe you are thinking about becoming a veterinarian then this is the class for you. Zoology studies the scientific behavior and structure of health, interactions, habitats, and the overall life of animals.

World Mythology

Ancient Greek mythology: gods, goddesses, the Egyptians, everything you can think of that goes way back before more modern times. If you’re interested in mythical topics, then World Mythology could be a fun class for you!

Others

There are the other unique classes like Special Topics CE, and Social Media for Business, that may be of interest to many!

So if you are looking for new options, or just need a few extra credits in certain subjects to graduate, try out some of our “underrated” classes that we offer here at LHS.
