LHS Boys Soccer plays their last game of the season against John F. Kennedy High School

LHS going in for a cheer

On Friday, the LHS Boys Soccer team played their final game of the season against the John F. Kennedy High School Commanders. Despite losing 4-1, LHS fought hard, with big contributors to the fight being Seniors Daniel Long, Colby Hyde, Aaron Rushmore, and Julian Lopez. With this loss, LHS ends their season with a 2-13 record, with Englewood and Pomona being their two wins.

The Lions were able to get the ball down into Kennedy’s zone, and they even tried kicking some goals, but Kennedy’s wickedly good defense was able to stop them. We also had some good stops (when the defense steals the ball from the other team) and counter attacks (when the play turns from defense to offense rapidly).

The game was very frustrating for the team, as the refs did not call any penalties on either teams, including some big ones that hindered some of LHS’ playing ability.

Despite all of this, the game was very exciting and we had some good plays. It is sad that the season has come to an end, but there is always next year!
