It’s officially winter, and ‘tis the season for frosty furs and some icy bling. Instead of pretending it’s summer, people are embracing the wintery aesthetic. In honor of the chilliest time of the year, here are some of the most popular winter trends of 2025:
Fur hoods
This winter is focused on fighting the cold: in style. Now, you can wear your coat without ruining your outfit, because the coat is the outfit. Fur-trimmed hoods are making a comeback, harkening back to the “Slavic girl” winter of 2024. Reuse that old coat sitting in your closet, and embrace the fur! It’s warm, functional, and stylish.
Layered Shirts
Want to wear that cute T-shirt but the weather outside is frightful? Don’t worry, you can always just layer a long sleeve shirt underneath it. Not only is this a fun fashion choice, it’s warmer and more practical.
Icy lips and lids
Inside, you are warm and toasty, but on the outside, you are totally frostbitten (in a cutesy way of course). Pop on some shimmery, blue tinted lip gloss, or pale blue and tinsel silver eyeshadow for the perfect winter vibe. It’s the coolest look of the season, literally.

Festive nails
It’s beginning to look a lot like the holidays, and with all of the lights and snow comes matching nails of course. Whether you go for the classic green and red look or opt for frost-tipped metallics, wintery nails are the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. This season, lots of people are selecting press-ons for a quick and effortless beauty statement, but professionally done nails are always timeless pieces of art as well.
Ugg slippers
Comfy cozy meets clean chic with these shoes. Although they may not be the most effective for walking through snow and ice, they sure are adorable. Wear them with sweatpants, leggings or if you dare, a skirt and some legwarmers.
Rosy cheeks
Bring a little color into your season with cheeks kissed by soft pink or red, just like that rosy flush you get in the cold. More and more people are placing their pigment where they naturally blush, which usually is lower down instead of sky high across the cheekbones like 2016. Brush a little across your nose, Rudolph style, and your look is complete!
