Girls Basketball vs D'Evelyn High School

The LHS Girls Basketball Team vs. D’Evelyn High School

This last week, on Friday the 23rd, the Littleton High School Girls Basketball Team played against D’Evelyn High School. It was an amazing game, that started quite strangely!

The National Anthem was sung courtesy of D’Evelyn after a malfunction with the sound system. This game was full of hard-fought points, with LHS losing the game 39-58, but great scores by sophomore Olivia May, senior Emma Bird, and sophomore Josie Wallrath.

In the first 3 minutes of the game, May scored a three-pointer for the Lions, putting them in the lead. The team played well together, and Wallrath made 2 points at the end of the first period, making the score 5-14. The second period was filled with tense moments, as both teams battled for rebounds and fought for the ball. Bird shot a 3-pointer near the end of the second period, making it 13-31. During the third period, Bird really showed up for the team, making baskets that got them to 15 points and scoring both free throws. And once more, she won the rebound and got LHS closer to more points.

By the end of the 3rd period, the score was 17-51. This last period was a crazy fight for the Lions, to try to gain as many points as possible. In the 8 minutes allotted to a period, the girls scored a whopping 21 points! These points were courtesy of Bird, freshman Thalia Drakos, senior Lena Drakos, and sophomore Halle Patterson.

This game was a truly grueling game, and we are so proud of the girls! We can’t wait to see what they accomplish the rest of the season.
