Monday night, the LHS Unified Basketball team faced off against Legend High School, in a game that was about far more than just the final score. From the opening moments to the final buzzer, the night was filled with incredible passes, exciting shots, strong defense, and nonstop energy that turned the gym into a celebration. Between the music, the cheering crowd, and an unforgettable dance party on the court, the Lions truly showed up and showed out!
Before the game even began, Chuck Wintzen delivered a powerful and moving performance of the national anthem. Their performance immediately captured the attention of the crowd, and set a meaningful tone for the night. The stands were packed with supporters who filled the gym with applause, cheers, and encouragement, creating an uplifting and welcoming environment for every athlete on the court.
The game itself stayed competitive throughout the first half, with both teams trading baskets and keeping the score close. Unified Basketball consists of two 20-minute periods, with substitutions every four minutes, allowing every athlete the opportunity to participate and make an impact. Throughout the night, both teams displayed incredible sportsmanship and teamwork. Reese Reynolds and Jayden Garcia stood out on the defensive end, working hard to stop shots and protect the basket.
