On the evening of Friday, February 13th, the LHS Theater department performed their annual Miscast show. Miscast served not only the purpose of raising money for the theater department, but also, arguably, a good way to kick off the three-day weekend with President’s Day.
Now, what exactly is Miscast?
As stated before, it’s primarily a fundraising event for the LHS Theater department. To attend the event, a donation is required, unlike the normal set fee for most theater performances. The name is fitting: members of the theater department are cast as parts they normally wouldn’t play, or are “miscast.”
To start the night, the MCs introduced themselves- acting as each other. They then proceeded to introduce the first miscasted performance: Levi Bechtold, Liam Clune, Jordan Johnson, and Ava Ludwig’s “Schuyler Sisters.”

Before and after every performance, MCs would make witty remarks and introduce the next performance in a very humorous manner.
Other notable performances included Mallory and Belle’s singing of “Freeze Your Brain” (which promptly made me buy a slurpee from 7-11 afterwards), Alek Garcia’s “La Llorona,” Kieran Halsall’s “Val Monologue,” and Abby Suque’s performance of “Arabian Nights.” Overall, it was a humorous evening that was absolutely worth going to.
The LHS Theater department’s musical production, Once Upon A Mattress, will be performed in early March, make sure to get tickets!
