Located on Main Street in downtown Littleton, a cozy little book store called Spell Books has a wide variety of books of every genre. They’ve got a magical feel inside the store, and the employees are very welcoming.
The store itself has magical and whimsical decorations that give a feeling of contentment, and the organization is really easy to follow. Books are organized standardly by author’s last name, and genres are labeled. They have a little table to sit at and read, with picture books on little stands to show the cover art. The books range from very advanced reading to picture books with minimal dialogue.
In each section, there’s a few books on stands that are favorites. They have handwritten descriptions next to them, which I found to be helpful when browsing for a book to buy. They also have a shelf with each employee and their top picks for books.
Spell Books also has a lot of book-themed merchandise for purchase. The shirts are right under the section of books that you see when you walk in, and hats are visible from the window. Some of the shirts for sale have funny or catchy captions on them.
When a customer walks into the store, the first thing to their right is a bulletin board promoting neighborhood events. It has flyers for suicide prevention, local clubs, and donation encouragement.
Ultimately, Spell Books is a really nice, cozy place, with friendly employees. Their community awareness is inspiring, and the books are all easily accessible and easy to figure out what you’re getting into.
