On Saturday, October 17th, Lions Flag Football played in the second round of the playoffs against the Green Mountain Rams. It was a tough competition for the Lions, and they ended up closing out the season with a 40-7 loss, but there was way more to the game beyond the score. Even though the Lions didn’t win, they truly played like a team and showed great camaraderie and fought until the clock ran out. Many students and families also showed up to support the team from the stands and kept the energy up for the ladies on the field.
Earlier in the season, the Lions played the Rams and lost 61-6, so this game truly shows how much of a fight the Lions put up and the amount of improvement they have made through the season.
This team has great sportsmanship and communication and is a great representation of who LHS because they played a great game and did their best. During this game, we saw very strong performances from sophomore Halle Patterson, who made the touchdown for the Lions, along with junior Alexa Holm-Denoma who was there when her team needed her and offered some amazing punts allowing the Lions to make some progress against the Rams.
We are so proud of the amazing season Flag Football has had and we can’t wait to see what happens next year!
