Last night, seniors on LHS Volleyball were commemorated before their match against Standley Lake. There are five seniors on LHS volleyball, and all five were announced and escorted by their fellow players, while their future plans and favorite memories were recalled.

The seniors stood with their parents while videos played of their highlights of their volleyball careers, while wearing dazzling pink jerseys for breast cancer awareness.
The Lions started strong, and barely lost their first set. They fought hard throughout the match, but ended up losing the game after coming short in the first 3 sets. Powerful serves by senior Liv Croci, along with steady sets from junior Lexi Jacobs, fueled the team and made the match very close. The student section was also very strong, creating cheers that unified the fans and the team.
Croci reflected on her amazing time at LHS Volleyball, and noted that her favorite part of the sport was everything it taught her. “I have learned leadership, how to make friends, and how to connect with people,” Croci said. “I am so grateful to have been a part of this program!”
Senior Cate Whalen was proud of the team after the game despite the win, because they worked hard and kept up a good fight. “I think we really stayed together as a team,” said Whalen, “I love all of the adventures we’ve had on volleyball, which would definitely be one of the highlights of my season.”
The Lions have three games left, and they face Green Mountain tomorrow at LHS.
