Phoebe Bridgers shocks Ball Arena with The Lost Tour

On October 19th, Phoebe Bridgers played at Ball Arena. It was a phone free concert, making use of Yondr pouches to secure phones preventing photos or videos to be taken during a performance.

The scenic and lighting designs of The Lost Tour are phenomenal, with a giant dome covering the whole band. The dome was a dynamic lighting rig and video screen with a curtain functioning as a projection screen. There was a B stage where Alex G opened, a headliner-length opening set with 17 songs. Alex G told the audience that the Flyers were beating the Avalance, breaking the news to Denver fans since they were unable to check their phones.

When Phoebe Bridgers began, amazing effects made it hard to tell whether she would start at the A or B stage, and after tons of lighting effects and “The Outside” played, the dome lifted revealing Bridgers and her band. “Lost Weekend” came out on August 14th, her first album in six years covering grief, losing a parent, and relationships. The show felt very intimate while being set at Ball Arena, and having no phones made it very genuine and vulnerable. Bridgers spoke about her father and losing him and how that led her to where she is now.

This is my favorite concert I have ever attended, an experience like no other. The audience was sobbing, holding on to each other, on the edge of their seats waiting to hear what song she would play next. It was an extremely memorable performance with 23 songs including “Waiting Room”, “Still Standing”, and “Bobby”. Bridgers also brought out her brother Jackson to sing “I Can’t Wait” and “Would You Rather” as well as the crowd sung him happy birthday.
