The HOSA Future Health Professionals Leadership Conference kicked off on Thursday, February 27th and lasted until the 29th. The conference was an event dedicated to testing student abilities in a variety of competitive events, ranging from Pathophysiology to Biomedical Debates, which were all being judged by a panel of judges.
Two Littleton High School Students, Heaven Flores and Alexa Zasuly, represented the school in the competitions. Heaven Flores made it past the 1st round and her Littleton HOSA team placed 2nd for Creative Problem Solving in the final round. When asked about her medal placing Heaven admitted she was pleasantly surprised. “I was not expecting for us even to place, especially 2nd place”. Flores is considered a National Medalist for Colorado HOSA, which grants her the ability to attend the HOSA International Leadership Conference.

The conference also hosted a myriad of professionals in the medical world in attendance like, Dr. Ann Janette, who is currently serving as the chair of the Social Work Department of Metropolitan State University. There were also speakers like Nick Zizi, who is a three time best selling author and Founder of the Nick Zizi Scholarship Foundation.
There were also many sympodiums presented to the students which varied from marijuana studies headed by the CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy to teen drivers which was led by the Colorado Department of Transportation. Overall the Littleton HOSA once again proved its quality and ability by receiving multiple top three placements.
