Yesterday, at Evergreen High School, a student brought a gun to school and opened fire, injuring two. The student then shot and killed himself.
This horrible event has sparked a large amount of emotions from the students of Littleton High School. Many people know students at Evergreen or are somehow affected by this terrible event.

Last night, the LHS Girls Flag Football team was scheduled to play against Bear Creek, another school in the Jeffco league. This game was cancelled, along with all other extracurricular activities that had Jeffco participation. Evergreen was also meant to play the LHS Boys Tennis team this evening, which has been cancelled as well.
Everywhere in the building, the shooting is being talked about. Students can’t avoid the tragedy, being that it has affected so many in our community. Lots of LHS students have posted on their social media about this event, with the themes being to ban guns in America, and the emphasis that these tragedies can’t keep happening.
To make things worse, there were two shootings in the United States of America yesterday. Before the Evergreen shooting, controversial political figure Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on the campus of the University of Utah.
There’s no advice that we as the Lions Roar staff can give, but to avoid the issue only allows it to persist. To our friends affected by this, at LHS and at Evergreen, our whole heart goes out to you, and we hope you’re doing well.
If any students need help coping with this event, don’t hesitate to stop by or contact the LHS counseling staff.
