Baseball Captain Oliver Nolting is ready to lead the LHS Baseball team into victory this spring season

As the baseball season is going underway, the LHS Varsity Baseball team is excited to play this season. They have been practicing since the fall, and have been hard at work with team building, strategies, and high energy for the spring. As we preview the season, Junior Ollie Nolting, the one of the Varsity captains, has some goals for the team.

“We are very excited for the season, and we have some aggressive goals but we are very hopeful,” said Nolting.

Two of the team’s goals are to go to the playoffs, and be a top five team in their league.

Being a part of the team isn’t only about making and reaching their goals, but also being a role model for the younger kids. Because of this, Nolting has not only been leading Varsity, but he has also been working with the JV team too.

Though playing for the school is a very big deal, not all of it started with the school. When asked how long he had been playing, Nolting said, “I have been on Varsity since freshman year, and I’ve been playing competitive baseball since I was eight.”

Playing for so long can definitely make you a better player, and being able to pass that skill down is just another great part of being captain. Nolting hopes to lead the baseball team to victory not only with skill, but by being a great team leader.

“I feel like I’ve worked very hard, and I just want to be a leader for my team and be a good role model for all my teammates on JV.” said Nolting.

Nolting is ready and excited to lead the team into the new season, and can’t wait to destroy in the playoffs. We are all excited to watch the baseball team play, and for them represent the Lions this spring!
