This past weekend, LHS Lions FBLA competed at the state competition. The competition went very well, and many LHS Students placed highly, including junior Ben Domer, sophomore Sophie Bailey, sophomore Lara Leonard, sophomore Cora Boyd, and freshman Lucia Bovo, all of whom placed in the top 10. We had many other fabulous performances, including many of our chapter members being able to move on to nationals in San Antonio, Texas, in the summer.
Sophomore Lara Leonard had an outstanding performance at FBLA State, in her event called Social Media Strategies. She competes in this event alongside sophomore Sophie Bailey, and both of them did amazing.
This is Leonard’s first year doing FBLA, and she says, “Doing well at state relied a lot on collaboration and division of tasks based on Sophie and I’s strengths.” Leonard’s favorite part about being on the FBLA team this year is meeting new people and having new experiences.
Similarly, senior Annie Fox, who has been a part of FBLA since her sophomore year in high school, says, “FBLA has provided me with countless opportunities for meeting new people, and connecting through business.”
When being asked about what the most important skill she has taken away from FBLA, Fox responded with, “I have really learned to understand the importance of servant leadership, when it comes to leading a team like FBLA.”
Overall, both Leonard and Fox have enjoyed FBLA, and have learned many skills that are applicable to their futures. We are so proud of them and the entire FBLA team. Way to go, Lions!
