LHS basketball first ever Coaches versus Cancer event

On Friday night, LHS and D’Evelyn paired with the American Cancer Society to raise money for cancer research during their game.

LHS versus D’Evelyn girls basketball at the Coaches versus Cancer game.

The game started at 6 with D’Evelyn quickly scoring the first point. LHS girls kept their minds in the game and the teams proved to be a good match. Going into halftime the score was tied 25 to 25.

The scoreboard hardly remained stagnant, however by the end, D’Evelyn had a lead over LHS by 52 to 43.

Because of this event, over $1,550 had been raised, surpassing the teams’ $1,000 goal.

Head Coach Adam Williams stated that he feels the girls team had been doing really well this year and is glad to have done this event.

About the Coaches versus Cancer, Williams said,

“It’s something that I’ve kinda been aware of the last couple years.  I thought it sounded like a really cool thing to do, a great event.  And I know that Littleton High School has been affected by cancer directly in the last year.  Several of our players and coaches have been affected by cancer over the course of the last couple of years too.  It just seemed like a good thing to do and, you know, to get a chance to do something positive.”

Thank you to everyone who showed up to support our Lions and help raise money for the American Cancer Society.
