LHS Girls Basketball wins big against Heritage

Last Friday night, the LHS Girls Basketball team traveled to face Heritage High School in a highly anticipated game. Even though they weren’t on their home court, the LHS Lions made it clear early on that they were ready to take over the court. The stands were filled with students, families, and fans from both schools, creating a loud and energetic atmosphere that added to the excitement of the night. From the opening tip-off, the intensity of the game kept everyone watching on the edge of their seats.

The momentum started immediately, when Wallrath, #24, scored the very first basket of the game, giving LHS an early confidence boost and setting the tone for the rest of the matchup. The girls played strong defense and moved the ball well on offense, allowing them to pull ahead quickly. By the end of the first quarter, LHS had built a solid 17–8 lead, showing their determination and teamwork.

As the game continued, both teams raised their level of play. The competition became more physical, with multiple fouls, tough rebounds, and aggressive drives to the basket on both sides. Emotions ran high as each possession mattered more than the last. Players fought through the pressure, and although many left the court with a few bumps and bruises, their effort and resilience never faded. Despite the intensity, sportsmanship remained a priority. The final score was 41-61, sending our girls home with another win! At the final buzzer, players from both teams took the time to congratulate one another, showing respect for the hard-fought game.
