LHS Girls’ Flag Football participates in the Denver Broncos’ Flag Football Jamboree

The Lombardi Trophies set up for viewing and pictures

This past Monday, the LHS Girls’ Flag Football team participated in the Broncos’ Girls’ Flag Football Jamboree at LPS Stadium. Four teams participated in the jamboree: Golden, Highlands Ranch, Wheat Ridge, and LHS. Three Denver Broncos cheerleaders and a couple alumni were also in attendance, and were available to take pictures with and get autographs. Additionally, the three Lombardi trophies were set up for pictures.

The games gave a chance for both JV and Varsity players to play, which showed off the depth of our team. LHS also scored a lot of touchdowns, and big plays were made by both the defense and offense.

“Playing in the games were such an honor. It gave our team some amazing practice and time to work out the kinks. I’m very proud of how we did, and if we attack the rest of our games like those we will make it through playoffs just fine,” said Sophomore Wren Freeman when asked about the overall performance of the team.

One of the best parts of the event was when the Denver Broncos’ cheerleaders performed two different routines, and afterwards took pictures and chatted with all of the teams. Freeman commented on how cool it was to meet them, and how the three of them were amazing women.

It was such a great experience to see the camaraderie of the LHS Flag Football team and excitement around being able to participate in an event sponsored by the Broncos. Hopefully, in the future, we get to host an event like this again!
