On Tuesday, January 10th LHS Lady Lionfish brought home a win in a dual meet at home. They won in a shocking finish during their last relay when two swimmers hit the wall simultaneously, ending their races. The victory was with 89.5 points.

The girls swim team has been off to a great start of their season with one first-place win, one second-place win, and two third-place wins as a team so far.

Scarlett Montoya, has been swimming for all four years of high school and also swam with a club at DU. She wants to make it to state for her last year on the team.

She also wants to, “have a fun year and meet a lot of new girls.”

Holly Burns, a senior in her third year swimming for LHS, has set the goal to make it to League which she has done every year so far. Burns also aims to beat her personal record for the 200-individual medley.

Both Burns and Montoya love the support they receive from their teammates as they compete in their events.

Burns said, “I love the environment every single meet.”
