Tuesday night, LHS Girls Volleyball won their home opener match against DSST: Conservatory Green three wins to two.

It was a stellar game with two close sets and many long plays between the two teams. The win was truly a team effort with each player contributing to key plays that led the team to win the game.
While there were amazing performances all around, the players who had key performances were seniors Sophia Rodriguez and Addy Giles and junior Sophelia Wright. Rodriguez had three blocks and sixteen kills, Giles had some amazing saves, and Wright served six aces.
“The game on Tuesday was definitely a battle,” said senior and team captain Liv Croci, “We went to 5 sets and at the last minute, I think the final score was 15 to 12. It was definitely close in every set and it got really intense in the gym, but it battled really hard and it ended up working out.”
Emotions were running high throughout the game with many players, coaches, and even the crowd expressing what they felt throughout the game.
“Emotions were definitely running high, and I think because we were so close. We were just, like, we really wanted power through, and we ended up doing that exact thing,” said Croci.
This match was an absolute thriller to watch and the team’s teamwork and skills shows that LHS volleyball can go far this year.
The team’s next home match will be Tuesday, September 1 at 6:30 pm against Thomas Jefferson High School in the North Gym.
