Littleton Football: The New Normal

The losing streak is over! For the first time in many years, the Littleton Lions football team has won a game. On Friday, August 27th, the Littleton Football team had their first game of the season. This game was particularly special as it was on the road against Abraham Lincoln High School at All City Stadium. The final score was 48-0 with a complete blow out. Usually, the Lions are suffering a hard defeat but tonight we came out on top.

A majority of the points came in the first half with 40 at half time. 8 points were scored in the first quarter and 32 points were scored in the second quarter. After a great first half with the 40-0 lead over Lincoln, the Lions came back to score their final 8 points of the game in the third quarter.

The game was attended by a full section of Littleton fans on the visitors side of the field. The fans were keeping the players full of energy in this big blowout with lots of cheers and screams with pride for this high scoring game.

“I feel proud of our boys and how much we have grown over the past four years. I don’t remember winning a game since my freshman homecoming game and tonight really meant the world to us as lions.” said senior Sophie O’Dell

The players were coming off tons of excitement after the game. They have been working extremely hard this season with a new coaching staff to change the negative connotation of Littleton Football.

“I think we did great. The coaches really coached us up for the season and my line was playing amazing shoutouts to Conor [Wherry], Ryan [Braun], Nashawn [Harrison], Brady [Lee], and Colton [Gerber].”  said junior quarterback Timmy Higgins #5

“We executed greatly, but there is always more to improve on. We got Thorton next in two weeks at Thorton Stadium. Now we just got to go execute some more”  said Ethan Bird, junior #13

“I feel great. I just turned out and I love my boys” said Brycen Mhlanga, junior #33

The boys want all our Littleton Lions out there to know this is the new normal getting numbers up on the board. This is not like the other years past. This is the new normal.

Our first home game will be homecoming on September 24th at 7pm against Sand Creek.
