Littleton girls basketball beats Heritage at home

Today, both the girls basketball teams faced their rival Heritage at Littleton. The varsity girls team came out victorious against Heritage in a 65-50 win.

The Lions played very well, adding to their now 14 consecutive wins against Heritage. Juniors Penny Urquhart and Jacy Chandler were standout players tonight.

“Last time we played Heritage I don’t feel like we did the best we could’ve, and I’m glad that we played how we did tonight,” said Chandler.

The Lions started off strong, gaining a 20-point lead by half-time. Heritage lessened the Lions’ lead, falling only 9 points behind in the fourth quarter. However, after a series of fouls and free throws, the Lions regained a substantial lead of 15 points to end the game.

“Overall I think our team played really good together tonight and brought really good energy to the floor,” said Chandler.

The Lions are a relatively young team playing in a challenging league, but they have been one of the most competitive teams in their division.

“This season I think we’re going to be really good but we play tough teams all season so we have to work,” Urquhart said.

The Lions hope to continue dominating this season!
