On February 5th and 6th, the LHS Girls and Boys wrestling teams, respectively, competed at the Jeffco League Championship. Both teams had a great showing, with the girls getting 2nd overall and the boys getting 3rd!
On the girls side, Senior Kooper Griggs and Junior Aliyah Humenansky won first place in their weight classes and became individual League Champions. Other notable finishes included Sophomore Jeslyn Galdamez, who got second, Senior Mimi Boone and Sophomore Wren Freeman, who both got third in their weight classes, and Senior Abby Roache and Freshman Camila Tavares, who both got 4th.
On the boys side, Seniors Daniel Tavares and Christian May came out victorious as League Champions. Other notable performances were by Noah Hansen, Mateo Lopez, Kane Schulz, Kevin-Guzman-Nava, and Evan Adams, who all secured 3rd place finishes, and freshman Thomas Stubner, who got 4th place.
Overall, this was a really great showing at League, and it seems like LHS Wrestling will continue to have a great postseason!
