A large club at LHS is Key Club, a club dedicated to service in the community. The President of Key Club this year is Junior Abby Long, and she has been working very hard on the club’s outreach this year. A specific goal of Long’s is to spread kindness.
“This year, we’ve been doing a ton of work to spread kindness throughout our school and spread kindness in our community.”
Not only is this goal super inspiring for the local community, but it is also impactful for the school as a whole.
The club is open to any student who wants to do community service. Long encourages all students who are interested in helping their community to join Key Club.
Holding this big of a leadership position as a junior is very impressive.
Long says, “I love being Key Club president because I get to help our community in our school and outside of our school.”
Long has been a member of Key Club since her freshman year, and continues to come back to help the community in and out of school.
At their next meeting they are making dog toys.
“It’s going to be super fun to help animal shelters in our community,” she says.
Besides Key Club, Long is a member of many clubs and activities at our school.
A few include: Student council, flag football, speech and debate, DECA, tennis and unified sports.
Long is a dedicated leader in the building and it is clear that she is making a large impact on our community.
