After, Chatfield she wanted a new challenge, so she became the superintendent of Englewood Schools for 8 years, but found she really missed being in a school with kids. So, she looked into working with kids internationally.

“It’s really important to me in terms of my own worldview and who I am, that I really truly embrace and understand other cultures. So, I applied for a position in Casablanca, Morocco, as  head of school. I’ve been there for 3 years, and I loved it, but I decided I really want to be back in a school of kids in that principal role,” Dr. Rubin on her time in Morocco.

When asked why she looked forward to being a principal again, Dr. Rubin said, “I love being involved that way. I love going to the activities. I love being in the classes, hearing about what people are learning.
I love working with staff, to make sure that they give the students the best experience possible.”

“When I had my interview on site, I was just so impressed by the school itself, the energy of the students.
I was able to go see the production of Once Upon a Mattress, and that just filled my heart. So, I’m thrilled.
I’m so excited to be at Littleton, and to be a part of such an amazing community, with so much tradition, but also so much to look forward to.”

Dr. Rubin wants LHS to know that she loves what she does. “I firmly believe that every student should have every opportunity possible for them,” she said. That is something that she “will always prioritize and put first.”

“My main goal at LHS is to hopefully remove roadblocks that might get in the way for kids to have all the opportunities they want, or for staff to be able to be the best teachers they want, or for families to help their students access lots of opportunities.”

“I will fight forever for kids to have the best experience. I am there for kids first and then the adults.”

Dr. Rubin actually has a personal connection to LHS and the nearby area. She is a graduate of another LPS high school and she feels such a strong connection to the school and campus.

“I’m really happy to be a part of the Littleton High School community, the Littleton City community, and very excited to get going.”

We are so excited to welcome Dr. Wendy Rubin to the LHS community and to see all she does to the school!
