On Thursday, September 24, the amazing Fall Concert with LHS Choir and Orchestra took place, with many fabulous performances from both the choir and orchestra.
The orchestra started the night off right, with Mozart’s “Overture to Lucio Silla” arranged by Dackow. A fun fact about this piece is that Mozart composed it at just 16 years old! Then, they played Gabriel Faure’s “Pavane”, and finally C. Saint-Saens “Fossils and Finale” from Carnival of the Animals.
LHS Singers sang “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” as their first song, arranged by Chris Peterson.
The Treble choir then sang “Lakeside Lullaby’” by Jacob Narverud and “Let Me Fly” arranged by Rolo Dillwortg.
LHS Singers continued with “Build Me Up Buttercup” arranged by Sean Connor Anderson, followed by “The Times They Are A-Changin’” by Bob Dylan and arranged by Adam Podd. This performance was a particular highlight for me, as a huge Bob Dylan fan.
When the Syrens performed, Sarah Alnima played the violin to “Does the World Say?” by Kyle Pederson. Next, they performed “Never One Thing” arranged by Corie Brown, with Zeke Chase doing percussion.
The Tenor/Bass Choir performed “Loch Lomond” arranged by Earlene Rentz, followed by “Fillimiooriay” arranged by Stuart P. O’Neil.
Troubadours ended the night with “In Starlight” by Joseph Piontek and “Rise” by Charles Anthony Sylvestri and Tyler Busick.
It was a fantastic performance by all of the choirs and orchestra! You could truly see the hard work of the performing arts students led by Mr. Emmons, Mrs. Moran, and Ms. L.
