Saying goodbye to Mr Stutzman

Having taught for 31 years, math teacher Rodney Stutzman is retiring at the end of this school year.  Since 2001, with a 4 year break in Tanzania, Stutzman has been a part of Littleton High School culture and life.

Looking back on his time at LHS, Stutzman has enjoyed the student culture.  The idea that people overtly say that ‘the culture of LHS is nice’ is something that Stutzman has always admired about the school.

When reflecting on his favorite memory, Stutzman thinks back to the time his own children spent at the school.  The memories of his children playing sports, but especially saying goodbye to his eldest children in the senior tunnel.

“It’s really a privilege to have your own kids at your school.”

As for retirement, Stutzman has no plans that are set in stone.  Instead, he has a list of projects to work through.

The thing that Stutzman will miss most is the students and the conversations that he has with them.

“I’ll miss the friendly battle of wits with students.  Just the repartee and the leading a class by leading not by forcing.  And having students buy into what we’re doing and go along with it.  I’ll miss that.”
