Senior night success for the boys’ swim team

The Littleton Lionfish had a successful and quick senior night ceremony today during their meet against  Ralston Valley High School. Although the boys were tired from morning practice and did not drop much time as a whole, the team’s spirit was high and every person in the pool was excited to support our seniors Shyam Patel, Ethan Rogers, Max Regan, Chris Jonsen, and Aidan Spalding.

Senior Max Regan walks through the tunnel and receives flowers from coach Andy Farner.

The tradition for senior night for both the boys and girls swim team is to form a tunnel of teammates for the seniors to walk through and grab flowers from their coaches. After they receive their flowers they walk to the diving well while someone announces their plans after high school. A station with balloons is also set up so the seniors and their families can get their pictures taken by a parent photographer.

Patel is going to Arizona State and plans to swim on their club team, Regan will commit to either University of Tampa or Syracuse and will major in marine sciences, Jonsen is going to CU Boulder and will double major in film studies and political science, Rogers is going to the University of Michigan and will major as undecided, and Spalding plans to go to seminary school to study divinity.

Ralston Valley joins Littleton High School for the senior tunnel

The Ralston Valley swimmers were not only great competition but also respectful competitors who went above and beyond to support both their own team and our seniors. The boys joined the Lionfish to make a tunnel for the seniors which showed true sportsmanship and meant a lot to the families of the soon-to-be graduates.
