The LHS Golf Team has been on a winning streak since the start of its season in early March. According to Coach Prince, they have won 3 out of the 4 tournaments they played in so far. They have also already been ranked 5th in the state.

When asked about how he thought the team was doing so far, he said, “This group is full of seniors, so they’ve been together for 4 years, and they know each other and the game well, so they are working really well together. Also, they have really high goals for the season.” This is exciting for the team, and sets them up well to continue the streak and win League again this year.
Seniors Annika Heimbigner and Zoe Bar-Or were interviewed about the team and how they felt about the season so far. Both seniors have been playing golf before high school, and are dedicated to the game! Bar-Or has committed to play D1 at the University of Montana, and Heimbigner commented on how she loved the family she gained through the sport and that anyone and everyone should play golf, no matter their ability!

On Monday, the 6th, Bar-Or shot a course record 68, which led the team to place 8th out of 25 teams in the state! Bar-Or remarked on the game, saying, “I tied the course record, while a girl from my national team beat the course record. But it didn’t feel like a loss, because I played great, and it was a great tournament overall!” Heimbigner noted similarly, “I think we have been doing pretty well, and especially as a team, we are really trying to come together to be one…so I’m confident of our abilities.”
The team has a little over a month until the League Championship, and everyone on the team is confident in their abilities to win it. Let’s go Lions!
