Some say that 67 is the equivalent of “skibidi” or “sigma” (other brain rot terms popular in 2025), in the sense that it has very little meaning at all. But others may disagree, when looking further into the origins of this wildly popular slang.
It seems to have stemmed from back in December of 2024, when hip hop artist Skrilla released a song called “Doot Doot.” In the song, he raps, “6-7″ and it quickly became the background sound to many TikTok videos. There are currently around 1.1 million videos surrounding it on the app.
However, it is also found to have some origin in NBA player LaMelo Ball, who stands 6 feet, 7 inches tall. He became a viral edit and meme surrounding the saying.
Overall, it is concluded that “67” and the popular hand motion with it could mean “so-so” or “maybe this, maybe that,” but it is truly just a new part of brain-rot culture within Gen-Alpha and Gen-Z. There is no saying when it will end, or what will replace it. But, it appears that the words and phrases “getting sendy,” “Clanker,” and “Mankeeping” may be on the rise for popular new slang terms.
