Students in IB theater and TheCO are having their student directed play, Puffs! Puffs is a show set at Hogwarts the same time Harry Potter was learning there. This show takes the classic story and puts it in the eyes of the overlooked Puff students.

The show is about a boy named Wayne who enjoys playing video games and watching movies (played by senior Emmett Moxon), a nerdy kid named Oliver learning lots at this new school (played by junior Reagan O’Connor), and their mysterious friend Megan who is trying to find her mom (played by junior Maddie Kushner) as well as the other Puffs as they try to solve mysteries, do well in classes, and avoid the scary things that happen while they are there. It starts off with the Narrator (junior Emery Burch) summarizes the original Harry Potter tale, before bringing the audience to the school. We find out that the Puffs are considered the school losers and their goal is to get at least third place in the House Cup. Besides being recluses, they are also notorious for losing house points and failing at most things they try.

As the Puffs have many adventures and challenges, they learn more about each other and grow as a group through their years of school. The show pokes fun at the original books and movies, sneaking in iconic elements like getting drunk from Butterbeer, asking people to the school dance, and even the giant spider. One of the most iconic parts of the play was the final battle between the Puffs and Voldemort and his henchmen. The students pull silly spells to fight off the villains and get defeated in the funniest ways.

The set was beautiful, the costumes were very suitable for the characters, and the light and sound were on point the entire time, making the show all the more magical to watch.
Puffs will be at the LHS theater from April 16-17 at 7:00 PM, and tickets are being sold online here and at the door; $8 for adults and $5 for students, so make sure to grab tickets and find out the other side of the story from the Puffs!
