Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is now open in Denver, and it’s one you can’t miss! The exhibit combines the history of world-famous artist Vincent Van Gogh with captivating 3D projections and illusions, making you feel like you are seeing his paintings and their settings in real life. You have the opportunity to step inside some of Van Gogh’s paintings, specifically his sunflower pieces, surrounding yourself with hundreds of flowers in full bloom.
Additionally, there is a 20,000 square foot room with immersive lights and sounds, allowing visitors to sit down and take in all of Van Gogh’s work, and how he combines his inner feelings with nature. This is a breathtaking sight, with changing scenes of Van Gogh’s self portraits, his house, trees, and the overall different seasons.
A free tea station was offered midway through the exhibit, with a tablecloth that depicted Van Gogh’s Starry Night. This was very impressive, as it allowed for visitors to rest and enjoy a nice hot drink while admiring the paintings and projections.
A sculpture of Van Gogh is seen in the corner of the exhibit, with projections of different artworks constantly moving across his face. And although none of these paintings are actually present in the building, the projections make them look very realistic, as if you are in the Louvre observing the masterpieces.
The exhibit concluded with a gift shop of all things Van Gogh, and a cafe was available for people to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or snack.
Overall, this experience was definitely immersive, and it was surreal to learn so much about Van Gogh and his achievements. One thing that really shocked me was how the artist didn’t gain fame or credit for his artwork until long after his death, and now he is one of the most famous painters in history!
The exhibit is scheduled to stay until October 18, so make sure to get tickets and see what you’ve been missing!
