So remember way back in September when I wrote about why fall is awful (if you have no idea what I’m talking about, go check it out)? Well, it is finally time to talk about my absolute favorite time of year: spring.
You might be thinking: what’s so great about spring? It’s like a limbo between winter and summer, and there aren’t really universal holidays. However, I think that’s the best part.
Reason #1: While the fall leaves are pretty to look at, flowers are a true source of color and are just gorgeous. There are so many different types with a variety of colors, and the trees start to bloom again. It’s like everyone and everything is waking up.
Reason #2: I like when it’s sunny. When days are longer, it just makes me happier. After March 13, we set the clock forward so the sun won’t set until 7:00, and I’m ready.
Reasons #3: In fall, school is starting and the whole year looms ahead of you, but in spring, school is winding down. You can look back with nostalgia at the school year while also looking ahead to summer. The school work seems manageable and some classes are getting ready for AP and IB tests. Anticipation of what’s to come makes the school year easier to finish.
Reasons #4: Spring is the perfect blend of winter and summer. There is still snow but the temperature is getting warmer. Spring is the only season where you can go skiing and play baseball in the same week.
Reason #5: Spring break is the superior break during the school year. Traveling is easier because there is no major holiday surrounding it. This is a much-needed break that will split up the semester into manageable sizes and helps you decompress before the end of the school year.
Reason #6: Shamrock shakes. I know not everyone likes them, but I think they are the perfect holiday drink that is scrumptious.
Something about spring just feels fresh, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
