Fall is Colorado’s best season. Here’s why

When people think of Colorado, they often think of snow covered mountains, rushing rivers, and fancy ski resorts. However, many Coloradans actually argue that fall is our state’s best season. With colorful leaves, cooling temperatures, fewer crowds, seasonal traditions, and fall sports, fall offers unique experiences that summer and winter can’t match.

One of the biggest reasons people love fall is the weather. Recently, we have been getting weather in the 80s with this past summer yielding even higher temperatures. On the other hand, winter is often freezing which creates unpleasant conditions and icy roads. Fall offers a happy medium: the days are cool enough to wear a hoodie but warm enough to spend time outdoors walking to school, eating lunch, playing or attending sports, and hanging out with friends.

Fall is also when Colorado’s scenery is at its peak. The bright yellow aspen trees and vibrant reds, browns, golds, and orange leaves make everyday life a little more enjoyable. Jumping in leaf piles, going on hikes, and just generally spending time outside are great ways to see the Colorado leaves change!

The season also brings many important activities to Littleton High School. Our football, cross country, volleyball, boy’s soccer, field hockey, gymnastics, poms, girl’s flag football, golf, boy’s tennis, and Unified sports start their seasons! Plus, our homecoming dance, pep rallies, and spirit weeks start up in the fall alongside Halloween. All of these games and events help our LHS students connect and create fun memories.

For LHS students, fall is more than just a season. It’s a time for school spirit, vibrant colors, and the start of another exciting school year. Fall brings out everything that we love about living in Colorado. Be sure to make the most of it!
