After an intense, nerve-wracking, match against Regis Groff on Tuesday, September 14, LHS Girls Volleyball team secured a win at home. The match started in the late evening, and went until almost 9:30 PM. After four sets, the Lions eventually won three sets to one.
“I think our biggest strengths were just being able to fight back and just not give up easily,” said senior team captain Addy Giles.
LHS and Regis Groff had many very long rallies, and the Lions won many of them. Notably, LHS had many rallies where the team didn’t necessarily win by power but by simply spiking the ball where Regis Groff wasn’t. Junior Abby Heider had multiple spikes to win points.
The Lions had some amazing serves that went unreturned, and even more that were returned but then immediately spiked back. The team also made sure to cheer for each other on the sidelines with immense team spirit.
“We kind of fit together like pros,” said Giles.
LHS Girls Volleyball plays their next match away at D’Evelyn Junior/Senior High School on Thursday, September 24.
