On October 25th, I went to see the Reinke Bros. Haunted Mansion. It was both terrifying and a fun experience. I went with my dad and my brother around 3 PM so I could make the nighttime schedule which turns off the lights but also bans me from photographing any parts of the rooms.
You enter the Reinke store to the box office and then head into the packed line for the Haunted House, and then you meet a magician. The magician WILL tease you and perform several tricks on you. I don’t want to spoil any of the tricks so you can have your own surprise but I can say it’s amazing and despite the tricks start with cards and cloths but they are unique and were not things I’ve ever seen before and I can say that I have no idea how he did any of them.
Anyways, I had finally got to enter the haunted house. It shocked me that they used a mix of 2 different methods of jumpscares, animatronics and human actors. I would say that these actors are not as scary as the animatronics has not given them the ability to flash lights or jump from the ceiling. But the actors’ humanness does help give them an amount of fear that they can cause through being able to recognize someone without only tracking motion.
Just like the magic tricks, I won’t spoil the exact rooms either but I will say there’s a lot based off of some of my favorite horror films and those were certainly my favorite but I have an obvious bias to note with that. I’d highly recommend going to see it for yourself and forming your own opinion.
Happy Halloween everyone! Reinke Brothers Haunted Mansion will be open till November 1st but the store will be open year-round
