Boys basketball fought hard during senior night

Last Friday, LHS boys basketball played against Evergreen High School and all seniors were honored with a welcoming ceremony that involved the seniors’ families and their future plans after high school (announced by Physical Education Department Chair Chad Koepke).

Although the team lost, several successful plays were made, including some impressive 3-pointers, and with a final score of 43-36 defense was pretty on point (especially during the first half).

“The team over the season started off rough,” said senior Peyton Fenner. “We’ve lost a lot of close games, including Evergreen, but it’s nice that were able to come out and put up a really good fight against a playoff bound team.”

Although the team started to lag behind during the second half, strong defense by players such as junior Treyton Fletcher and senior Tiva Bere, as well as a great collective team effort all around.

The team is still going to work hard and continue to play to the best of their ability, testing their skills next against Pomona High School on Monday the 13th.
