Boys varsity soccer dominates against Alameda International

Yesterday, October 4, 2021, our Littleton boys’ varsity soccer team hosted a match against Alameda International. The game ended in an outstanding win by our Littleton Lions, the final score being 10-0. Nine of these 10 goals were scored just in the first half of the game!

The game started off strong with senior forward Tony Fahn scoring a goal in the first minute of the game.

The goals just kept coming in after the first at an impressive rate.

Even though this game spent a majority of the time on the offensive half of the field, there were several remarkable defensive plays as well. A breakaway from Alameda in the first half was a real scare for the team, but goalkeeper Aiden Papi made an incredible save that denied Alameda a goal.

In the second half of the game, backup goalkeeper Hayden Habitz went in for Aiden Papi and kept all of Alameda’s shots out of the goal for the rest of the game.

The game ended with a mercy rule 23 minutes into the second half with the scoring of Littleton’s 10th and final goal.

Freshman Devin Shepard scored an impressive four of the 10 goals in the game. Shepard expresses his contentment with his performance in the game.

“I’m just happy I finally scored. I’m trying to go for most goals in the League, and now I think I have that so I’m excited,”

With the end of the season nearing, this win will definitely help the team on their road to the playoffs.

“I just want to go as far as we can in playoffs. Our team isn’t known to go far in or even make playoffs,” says Shepard.

Shepard also mentions the team’s progress over the season.

“[We’ve had] A lot of ups and downs, we lost 5-1 at the beginning and now we have 7 wins and 4 losses. We started off not so great and now we’re rolling.”

The next boys varsity soccer home game is on October 11 against D’Evelyn. Come out and cheer on your Lions!
