Breaking: LHS football is 4-0 for first time since ’05

In the past, the Littleton High School football team has not ranked in any significant capacity. However, this year, the Lions have started the season 3-0. The first time since 2009! On Friday, September 14, they had a chance to be 4-0 for the first time since 2005. The game was at home against rival Englewood Pirates.

They did just that. Taking home the victory 44-33 in front of the home crowd. Last season, the Lions had an underwhelming season, going 1-9. However, this year, a new coaching staff arrived and made everything change.

“It’s the whole culture, the coaching staff, the attitude in practice. When we are all together we are unstoppable,” said senior running back Brycen Mhlanga.

Mhlanga had a huge day, ending the game with a monster 93-yard touchdown run that gave Littleton all the confidence they needed to seal the 4th game in a row.

“Just like practice, I just come out here and have fun, that’s really all it is,” said Mhlanga.

Mhlanga had such an incredible performance, with several opposing players approaching him following the victory to show their respect. He definitely had fun and has played as his authentic self all season long.

“The Hawaiian theme made the game very fun and brought life to the crowd. The overall experience was super fun and would recommend everyone attend,” said sophomore Peyton Brooks.

Football will continue next Friday at Kennedy High School. Show up and show out for a big away game!
