Djuna Strahl and Grace Foresman get accepted into state teams

The LHS Poms team is fresh off their very impressive finish at their State competition. From the achievements of this past semester, two of the girls from the team received awards for their season. Senior Djuna Strahl and Junior Grace Foresman both got accepted onto high achieving teams.

Foresman got accepted onto the CHSAA All State Team. Her coach submitted her name and the CHSAA judges took it and looked at her videos from League and State. She got accepted based on her talent and her sportsmanship.

She is very excited to accept this new title as well as any activities that may come with it.

Foresman had a lot of goals for this year as well as the future.

“I think my biggest goal was to improve myself and learn new tricks and new skills and definitely grow in leadership,” said Foresman.

Moving forward, she wants to keep improving in her dancing as well as find more balance between school and her various activities.

Strahl was one of this year’s two team captains and she has been accepted to the Colorado High School Coaches Association All-State Team. This team is offered to seniors across Colorado. Each coach from high schools around the state submit two of their seniors and then the judges look at the students performing at League and at State.

“They want us to have some skills, sportsman-like actions and just good behavior”. Said Strahl.

On her new team, Strahl will spend time at CSU Pueblo in June. While there she will create and perform dances with the other people and they will cheer on the athletes who got accepted for various sports. Strahl is most excited for the opportunity to live on a college campus and get the feel for it before she goes away for school. She is also very excited to hang out with like minded people while she is there.

The biggest goal for Strahl this year was to make a connected team who has a lot of fun performing together.

“It’s super, super important to continue your progress but it’s also important to have team goals, like how well we did at state, so it’s important to have some sort of connection.” says Strahl.

While looking to the future, Strahl aims to continue her dancing career by participating on club dance teams in college. She is very excited to continue her education.

Congratulations to both girls for their impressive achievements this year!
