On Friday night, the football team celebrated its eight seniors in a game against Green Mountain. The seniors on the team are captain Colton Gerber, captain Boston Adams, captain Kynan Harris, captain Hunter Follett, Ryan Braun, Michael Poche, Armando Jimenez, and Nashawn Harrison. It was a cold one, with temperatures falling below thirty degrees. Regardless, the Lions fought hard throughout the night.
Defense was on point all night, with crucial tackles by senior captain Colton Gerber and senior Armando Jimenez.
At halftime, a celebration for senior players and senior managers took place, where they walked down a tunnel formed by their families and teammates. Most of the graduating seniors have been on the varsity squad for a full four years.
The football team was not the only team celebrating senior night. The poms team also honored the two seniors on their team: captain Djuna Strahl and captain Audrey Thompson. However, the poms aren’t done yet; they’ll be entering the competition season this winter.
Despite the cold, many students came out to support the team and participate in cheers.
The teams’ last game is on November 2nd against Wheatridge. Good luck lions!
