Girl’s basketball faces D’Evelyn in a tough game

The Lady Lions faced the D’Evelyn Jaguars on Monday, January 24th, ultimately losing 35-48, though throughout the game they showed constant determination and never gave up through all 4 quarters.

The first half of the game ended at a close 20-24, with the Jaguars barely in the lead. Even though there was oppressive defense from D’Evelyn, Jacey Chandler landed the first 4 points as free throws, Daysha Sagrillo-Smiley landed two free throws and Marlee Hernandez-Priest landed an impressive three-pointer. The half ended with 8 fouls for Littleton and 4 from D’Evelyn.

In the second half of the game, the Jaguars continued their relentless defense. Sophie Valentine was able to land a layup, and both Penny Urqhart and Jacey Chandler sunk their three-pointers with ease, the game ending with 8 fouls for both teams.

Although they lost, the girl’s team is determined to work even harder for their next home game against Standley Lake tomorrow, January 26th.
