Girls basketball keeps record in the positive after game against Arvada West

Free throw shot being made during the game

On Friday, December 10th, our Littleton Lady Lions basketball team won their fourth consecutive win of the season. This win advances them to a 4-0 start on the season. This game was home against the Arvada West Wildcats, who were also undefeated before this game.

Although the Lions were down at halftime, they made a great comeback in the second half. The game ended 52-43 with LHS on top. The free throws scored by sophomores Daysha Sagrillo and Penny Urquhart assisted the Lions into making this comeback.

When going into this game, the team was hoping to remain undefeated and get the win, but also continue to play collectively as team to do so. They wanted to show Arvada West who we are as a team and how we could win this game.

The team as a whole felt great about the win and feel that this season will continue to remain positive. Hopefully our lady lions basketball team will keep this undefeated streak going.

This game particularly had a really great crowd to support the team in this great win. The team was able to bounce back after trailing by 6 points and they ended up winning by 9.

“I am most proud of our ability to persevere through a difficult first half and have an amazing, outstanding second half,” said senior Ava Youngblood-Yazzie on what she most proud of in this game.

The next game for the Lady Lions will be on Tuesday, December 14th against Thomas Jefferson at home.
