“I was really excited about getting out there and being able to play with my teammates after I hadn’t for so long,” said senior Marlee Hernandez-Priest. “I’m proud of my team, how they worked together and pulled it out.” Hernandez-Priest, the captain of the team, was selected as the Player of the Game.

“At halftime we all responded to coach and came together more and Marlee our captain really hyped us up,” said sophomore Penny Urquhart. Urquhart scored twelve of the 63 total points.

“I’m looking forward to possibly making it to state, I’m really excited for what this team can do,” said Hernandez-Priest. “We’re gonna go far if we keep playing the way we do, and I think we have a pretty good team.”

“I’m excited just to start playing again and having people in the building because last year we didn’t have anyone,” said Urquhart. Evidently, the crowd created an environment that was a refreshing deviation from last year.

Throughout the game, the girls showed off their tremendous talent and it’s clear that there will be many more wins in the team’s future.
