Lady Lions fought hard against Wheat Ridge despite loss

On Friday, April 15, the LHS girls’ soccer team fought hard and lost to Wheatridge. The final score was 0-4.

Going into this game, the overall record was 3-6 and the girls were hoping to win.

“The season so far has been hard. We don’t have a great record so far and we’re more than halfway through our season,” said senior and team captain Tinley Enzminger.

The team getting ready to play

Some members of the team had a spirit day and wore anti-Farmer shirts to school to get pumped up and connected as a team. They went into the game with positive attitudes, but it didn’t last.

“The game…was really frustrating. It’s hard to lose games 0-4 but it’s especially hard when the whole team is working so hard and we just aren’t getting the chances we need,” said Enzminger.

Despite the frustration, many team members were able to showcase their skills, with Beth Krankota performing an impressive save.

“For the rest of the season, my goal for the team is to continue working hard at every game and practice. We have a ton of seniors on the team this year so I’m hoping we can win our senior night, May 3rd, and have fun playing with the underclassmen while we’re all here,” said Enzminger.

The girls have their next home game against Conifer on April 19 and will hopefully secure another win.
