Littleton FBLA attends the state leadership conference

This past weekend, FBLA traveled to the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center to compete in the state conference. Seven of our FBLA members won a top 10 place in their event, including freshman Riley Irwin, sophomore Grace Forseman, sophomore Tatum Pratt, sophomore Maren Moore, junior Vinny Anderson, senior Sam Wells, and senior Will Smith.

FBLA participates in a workshop activity

There are close to 40 different events in FBLA, ranging from marketing and business to app design to video game design to broadcast journalism.

While they were there, FBLA participated in many workshop activities that focus on future careers.

There was a college fair at the conference, and also many recreational activities like a water balloon fight, a hypnosis event, and a trivia night.

Kylah Adams with her third-place award

Senior Kylah Adams won 3rd place in the hospitality and event management event, which is an event that centers around guest experience in hotels and restaurants.

Adams describes her experience at the conference.

Rivers Hylton accepts her fourth-place award

“I really liked the FBLA conference, this is my second time competing at state. It was familiar but also different from the last time. It was a smaller group of kids than we had the first time I was there. It was really nice to see the convention center but also get some downtime, experience new things, and work on our different events,” said Adams.

Senior Rivers Hylton won 4th place in UX design, a category of website coding and design that determines user experience.

Hylton explains why she enjoys participating in FBLA.

“It helps me branch out, especially because I don’t get around to doing much business stuff. I haven’t really had a chance to take any business classes so this gives me an opportunity to explore that side of education without committing to a class. Also, competing is fun,” said Hylton.

Congratulations FBLA!
